Be Patient with Yourself: Spiritual Growth Takes Time
We are grateful for your company today. I’m speaking of something vital to having a good time in life—patience with herself.
The Bible tells us in Philippians 2:12-13 instead, ‘Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence but in God’s presence work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God, who works in you.’ More to the point, Paul emphasizes that one is to “work out” the salvation for himself, not to work for it. Salvation is costly but received free of charge because it is through faith in the word of God.

Spiritual growth takes time. Like the child, we grow spiritually. We are all in various developmental cycles. Some are progressing, others are lagging. Here, do not address the problem of comparing oneself with others. Just concentrate on your walk with Christ.
1. God is working in you.
All that you will ever need has been provided by the Lord, in you. Sometimes it is challenging to see the Lord at work because the Holy Spirit is actively involved in our sanctification. We are obedient to work together with the Holy Spirit. This means submission to God’s proceedings, which may at times be rather inconvenient.
2. It needs to be understood that spiritual development is a progression.
We are then shaped depending on the contingencies of this world in the same way that clay is molded into the final form. There are some facets of us that must be “cut off” before one may become more like Jesus. The process is not easy but it is essential for spiritual growth, which creates the need for the process.
3. Patience is key.
Everybody knows that spiritual growth is not a one-time process. It’s a journey. Don’t rush it. Be patient with yourself. The first thing I would like to advise myself is to always celebrate the wins, however big or small they might be.
4. Embrace the struggles.
Successes and challenges are inevitable at one stage or the other. They get to build on their stamina, perseverance, and personality. As James 1:3 says, “The proving of thy faith worketh patience.”
Hey girl, God is faithful, and he’s with you even in the winter season. Just wait, believe that what He is doing in you will produce something lovely. If you continue to cooperate with the HOLY SPIRIT, you are going to transform into the image of CHRIST.
Keep growing—don’t give up!
