There’s nothing wrong with your hairstyle, whether it’s dreadlocks, braids, or waves. The Bible doesn’t condemn hairstyles. It talks about people with long hair, but it emphasizes something greater—your heart.

Your Hair Doesn’t Define Your Faith

Jesus looks beyond appearances. If you had dreadlocks before being born again, they didn’t stop Jesus from saving you. Your hair didn’t block His grace. That shows hair is not the problem—your heart’s alignment with God is.

Here’s something to consider about dreadlocks. They became popular through the Rastafarian culture. The term “Rasta” refers to Ras Tafari Makonnen, later crowned Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. Rastafarians believe he was a descendant of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. They view him as divine, even worshipping him.

But here’s the truth: the Bible doesn’t command us to worship any man, not even King Solomon. Worship belongs to God alone. Haile Selassie was a leader, not the Savior.

If your dreadlocks are just a style, wear them confidently. If they symbolize faith in something contrary to God’s Word, reconsider.

God wants you to honor Him in all areas of your life—including how you represent yourself. Be decent. Let your appearance glorify God and not confuse others about your faith.

Remember, Jesus saves hearts, not hairstyles. Stay focused on what matters most—your relationship with Him.
