Christmas is a season full of cheer, however, sometimes we merely end up giving ourselves the blues. Between gift purchasing, cooking preparation, and tradition, the spirit of Christmas can often get lost in the shuffle. Now, let us try to consider the things that are really important during this season.

#### 1. Keep Christ at the Center

Christmas is all about the birth of Christ. He is the reason for celebration, presents, and hugs and kisses. Don’t be focused on worldly things, the best is to keep focusing on His love and grace.

#### 2. Do Not Overload Yourself with Perfection

People worry about pulling off the best decorations, a great meal, and good gifts. However, that does not mean that Christmas has to be perfect. Of course, traditions may change – it does not necessarily mean it is bad. The idea of love is much more important than any discussion of perfection.

#### 3. Embrace New Traditions

Families progress and evolve, as do traditions, with time the traditions that the families practice also evolve. If something has to change this year like children are getting married or loved ones are no longer there don’t be afraid to come up with a new way of handling it. What matters is that we are together and enjoy the Christmas lights – this is why we received the Jesus Gift.

#### 4. Friendship and not Gifts

Giving gifts is a lovely concept, however, these needs to be met judiciously so that they do not become a problem. Time and again, if you cannot afford to give any gifts, do not hesitate to level with friends and family members. Giving gifts doesn’t always have to be costly. It really does not matter what they are as long as they come from the heart.

#### 5. Help the Needy

The main and foremost thing to recall is that Christmas is a time to make other people happy. Try to find opportunities to support people who are lonely or have a tough time. Go to someone’s house and help tidy up or spend time, meditating and resting, playing with pets at a nearby shelter. It is not gaining, but rather giving.

#### Conclusion

This Christmas let us get back to basics, let us focus on why it is Christmas and that is Jesus. Throw away all the stress and concentrate on love, family, and faith. Whichever traditions you are celebrating, do not forget that Jesus is the best gift of all.
