Duncan-Williams Tells Story of How BNI Operatives Were Supposedly Sent To Assassinate Him
Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams has revealed that certain BNI agents were sent to take him out, but he prevailed through the power of God. He told Footprints on Citi TV that the event occurred during the PNDC era, when he was critical of the regime. According to him, two of the BNI officers have died, with one still serving.

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, a well-known gospel preacher, has claimed that he was targeted for death by some important people in government during Ghana’s military administration.
He claimed that three agents from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), which has since been renamed the National Bureau of Investigations (NIB), were sent to his home to arrest him, but he resisted. “So, they came, and I said, ‘I know why you are here, and I am not dying today, nor tomorrow, and I will outlive all of you,'” he recounted on Footprints, a religious show on Citi TV.

The incident occurred during the military government of the Provisional National Defense Council, according to the founder and General Overseer of the United Denomination of Action Chapel International (ACI) (PNDC). The late Jerry John Rawlings commanded the dictatorship.
Duncan-Williams confessed that he was not wise at the time, and his criticism of the state was harsh and persistent.
In recounting the assassination attempt, the revered man of God stated that one of the NIB operatives approached him while he was praying with a group of other pastors and told him, “I can’t do this [assassinate him]”.
“You can’t do what?” the Archbishop remarked to the agent. “Three of us are coming for you tonight,” he continued. “And then I said, ‘I know, don’t worry about it,'” Duncan-Williams continued.
He [NIB agent] inquired how I knew about the attempt, and I said that I was aware. Two of the agents, he claims, have now died, with one remaining in active service.
