Sermon: Onward Christian Soldier—The Power of Praise Register of Hymns:

Greetings to the Holy Ghost Congress of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), 2024 edition! So this year’s theme is Onward Christian Soldier. The battle is real, but the god that we worship is the victorious one. In this lesson, we will discover how we can show victory through praise and worship.

1. Life is a Battle

From the beginning, when God created the heavens and earth, darkness fought against light (Genesis 1:1-3). Your life is no different. It’s either you triumph or you are defeated in a contest that takes place each day and is unseen to the physical eye. But God is the final mercenary, and he takes your side.

2. The Power of Praise

Compliments are tools of combat. Psalm 68:1-4 we are informed thus: Let God arise; let them scatter. Praise escorts God to appear for our defense. The enemy cannot confront our God in war because He is powerful.

3. Praise Brings Victory

In 1 Samuel 7:10-13, the Israelites praised God after defeating the Philistines while God saw to it that the Philistines would not again make any attempts on the Israelites. Likewise, whenever you are praising God, they [the enemy] flee. Praise secures your victory.

4. Never Stop Praising

David, a mighty warrior, declared in Psalm 34:1, Psalm 34:1 Whether we are celebrating victories in life or facing tribulations in our life, singing praises is a confession of faith and belief in God’s ability to intervene.

5. The Power of God Behind You

If the enemy sees you, he will think you are weak. So when he looks at the stern of this ship and sees the Lord standing behind you, he knows he can’t win. In any case, praise places you on the side of the power of God, and you are sure to triumph.

Conclusion:

As you pray today, remember: God is fighting for you. This one tells that your victory is safe and sound in praise. You ought to make your worship a profession of faith and watch God work for you.
