In the beginning, God spoke. “Let there be light,” and there was light (Genesis 1:3). This was not just a declaration or even just an assertion. If God descends from the heavens and utters a word, then heaven and earth turn anew.

The Power of God’s Command: Let There Be Light

By this account, the divine command makes something that before was in a state of confusion to be orderly. The holy scriptures of Christianity reveal to us that the Earth was without form and empty and that there was darkness on the face of the abyss. Yet whenever God spoke, there was light to break through the darkness. The same power is yours today if you’ll only avail yourself of it.

Consequences of God Speaking Light into Existence

1. Confusion Ends

God’s light brings clarity. If you are struggling at any point in life and there are lots of confusions all around, then the light of God will clear all the confusions. Just like the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5: It serves to stand as a testimony that they who were healed when Jesus spoke, God’s command can restore order to your situation.

2. Storms Cease

In Mark 4:35-41, Eric met Jesus from 35-41 he commanded the storm to be still. When God asserts, “Let there be light,” storms in your life— be it, an emotional, financial, or a relational one—must stop. Nothing can stand against a storm if God wants it.

3. Poverty Ends

God’s light brings abundance. In fact, according to Genesis 1, as soon as God spoke light into existence, the earth started to bear fruit. If you have gone through the phase of suffering from lack, God’s light will procure the opportunity of abundance. Just like blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10:46-52, when the Lord speaks, your life spirit will not be in the dark.

God has entrusted you with the responsibility to exercise your voice. Matthew 18:18 says, Whatsoever you shut up on the earth shall be shut up also in heaven. This is perhaps why when you say, “Let there be light” in your life, you mean it, and it happens. It’s possible to change your situation today.

Conclusion

Stand firm in faith. God’s command to “let there be light” is not just for creation, but for your life. When God speaks, nothing can stay the same. Let His light shine in your life today.
