The Christian Soldier—Who is a Christian?

A Christian is a renewed man. According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature.” This means that we are cleansed for the word by the shed blood of Jesus, renewal in mind, conduct, and reason.

When is a man said to be a soldier of Christ?

A soldier of Christ is an individual, elected by God, and commissioned to engage in warfare on the Lord’s side. John 6:44 also reminds one that Jesus pointed out that no one can come to Him unless the Father draws such a person. Once you are saved, then you are enlisted to this army of God. You can no longer continue to strut as a civilian; you are now a soldier of Christ.

Endurance and Training – Boot Camp of Faith

Just like in the military, Christians go through a spiritual boot camp. 2 Timothy 2:3 holds, Suffer affliction as a good soldier of Christ. In order to firm us up in faith, God disciplines us, challenges us, and shapes us.

– Strength in the Lord

Psalm 24:8 calls God ‘The Lord strong and mighty.’” He is our Commander in Chief, and he has not lost a fight yet. Isaiah 40:29 says, “Even to him that is weak in power He gives power.” When you feel you are powerless, that is when God empowers you.

Moving Forward—Forward, Never Backward

That’s why I choose the path of the Christian soldier—there is no retreat! Exodus 14: So, for the optimists, Leviticus 15 says, “Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.” Once challenges start coming, one should never back down. When the going gets tough, don’t get tough; instead, go right on! If you encounter a wall, praise God, and it will fall (Joshua 6:20).

– Victory is Certain

Ephesians 6: Some of these are seen in 10-18, which outline the armor of God. Nowhere do I see armor on your back. What this means is you should never try to run away from your adversary. And now, God has given you the strength; get ready and deal with it.

Conclusion

I challenge you to stand strong in your faith. You are a soldier in God’s army, and He has equipped you for victory. Keep moving forward, and watch as God works miracles in your life! Hallelujah!
